Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) by Orku™ is used for filtering air and liquid to remove organic pollutants, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment.

Uses:

• Water Filtration: Adsorption of small molecular weight organics and pesticides from waste and potable water.
• Air Filtration: Deozonation of aquatic centres and removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
• Methyl Bromide (MeBr): Used as a filter in the vent from fumigation systems.

Applications:

• Air Filtration Volatiles Organic (VOCs): GAC is used as a filter in the vent from the air source being treated. The carbon adsorbs the VOCs, a common cause of odours.
• Methyl Bromide (MeBr): GAC is used as a filter in the vent from the fumigation system.
• Waste Water Treatment: GAC is used as a filter in a vessel through which the water is pumped. It is regularly backwashed and does not need to be replaced until it is exhausted, which may take several years.
• Stormwater: GAC is used as part of a stormwater sand filter constructed specially for stormwater treatment through which the stormwater flows. GAC removes organic compounds present in the stormwater.
• Chlorine Removal: Removal of chlorine from municipal water supply to dairy/food processing plants and water/beverage bottling plants.
• Aquatic Centres: GAC is used as a filter in a vessel through which the water is pumped. It is regularly backwashed and does not need to be replaced until it is exhausted, which may take several years.
